Snapchat may have lost a good portion of attention to Instagram, but the worldwide stay at home orders have helped it to boost the number of users.
In the span of the first three months of 2020 the app gained 11 million users worldwide, reaching a total of 229 million accounts. More than 4 billion snaps were created, and downloads of the Snap Camera app jumped up to 30 times per day, reports Quartz.
This was revealed by Snap Inc. representatives during the quarterly conference call on April 21st. The company also publicized its advertising revenue that showed a 44% gain (or $462.5 million).
Snapchat’s net loss, in turn, decreased, showing $305.9 million as opposed to $310.4 million from the first quarter of 2019.
