Snapchat Reigns Again Thanks to The Lockdown

Snapchat may have lost a good portion of attention to Instagram, but the worldwide stay at home orders have helped it to boost the number of users.

In the span of the first three months of 2020 the app gained 11 million users worldwide, reaching a total of 229 million accounts. More than 4 billion snaps were created, and downloads of the Snap Camera app jumped up to 30 times per day, reports Quartz.

This was revealed by Snap Inc. representatives during the quarterly conference call on April 21st. The company also publicized its advertising revenue that showed a 44% gain (or $462.5 million).

Snapchat’s net loss, in turn, decreased, showing $305.9 million as opposed to $310.4 million from the first quarter of 2019.

Nathan is a Technology Reporter, a front-end developer — and he can also build a robot. When asked if he believes in the inevitable uprising of Artificial Intelligence, Nathan usually takes a pause to stare into the distance with a dreamy smile. It is a little unsettling, but we are used to it, especially since Nathan is a great guy that seems to predict the next Tesla idea months before Elon Musk. At least that’s what it usually feels like. In real life, Nathan is an independent front-end developer who has graciously accepted our request to join our team. He says he basically began his career at the tender age of 13 by posting opinions on every gaming software within MySpace. Since then Nathan earned a Bachelor's degree in Robotics from University of Toledo and written for numerous digital outlets, including Cube, Got Idea, RoboHub, and Daring Data.
