Authorities in Panama have launched an investigation after seven people were found unresponsive with gunshot wounds on July 18th.
The victims, three men and four women, reportedly belong to one group of friends. The youngest was 17, the oldest 22. At that point they had been missing since July 17th, after going to Gatun Lake for a swim and never contacting their families, reports Reuters. The relatives of one of them made a report to the police.
According to the local homicide division, there are survivors: some people who succeeded with escaping the bloodbath, the reason behind which is yet to be learned. These survivors are cooperating with the investigators, who have admitted to being shocked by the magnitude of the crime.
