As the 2020 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers approach, the China National Team begins preparations with some fresh foreign blood.

The 17-day training sessions in Shanghai, which kicked off on May 10th, now include three naturalized players. A Brazilian-born forward previously known as Aloisio joins the team under the name of Luo Guofu. He’s accompanied by another player of Brazilian heritage, Ai Kesen (formerly known as Elkeson) and English-born Li Ke (Nico Yennaris).

Alan (Carvalho), yet another Brazilian forward teaming up with the group, currently remains in his native country and will fly to China after travel ban is over.

According to Soccer News from the Guangzhou outlet the number of naturalized players in the China National Football Team is expected to reach eight by the end of the year.

Li Tie will be leading the squad as head coach from now on, replacing Marcello Lippi who left his post last November after the team lost to Syria in a World Cup qualifying match. The team is scheduled to play two friendly matches against Shenhua and SPIG teams of the Chinese Super League.
