A “Grey’s Anatomy” veteran has released a Twitter post regarding her recently resurfaced 2018 interview about producer Harvey Weinstein and his victims.

The video, which was recorded during the Oxford Union Panel shows Ellen Pompeo offering her opinion on the #MeToo movement and sexual harassment. When asked about Harvey Weinstein, a Hollywood colossus who was at that time freshly accused of raping and abusing numerous actresses, Pompeo said the following:

“I do think we bear some responsibility, not all, but it takes two to tango.”

She then added that she herself used to have at least one business meeting with Weinstein and didn’t feel victimized by him. However, she stated that they met during the day and that she was accompanied by other people the whole time.

The video greatly upset the public, including Pompeo’s most devoted fans. On April 23rd the actress tried to address the concerns by tweeting:

“Hey girls sorry if video clips are upsetting!!  Its out of context & it’s too serious a subject to talk about on a platform like this…people who have been abused or assaulted should seek guidance from a therapist… this is not a healthy place for topics this serious.” (sic)

But this apology attempt did not sit right with her followers.

“The unapologetic apology, ladies and gentlemen: “sorry you took it the wrong way.” one user replied.

Another one posted the full interview in the replies, noting that none of Pompeo’s statements were edited or taken out of context.
