Demonstrations took place along a well known route even though at first they were not allowed. A judge ruled that he saw no reason why they should not proceed along a known route. These demonstrations were taking place as a result of government passing a bill which disallows police officers from being filmed. Even though this was decried by journalists, rights activists and NGO’s. As serendipity would have it in the interim between the bill being passed and the demonstration. A video emerged which showed the police brutalizing a Black man who is a music producer outside his studio. His crime was not wearing a face mask. This was timely as it showed if police can not be filmed then how would illegal acts by them come to light. The president of the country for the third time this year .
