You can now own a draft of Bob Dylan’s legendary hit written down by the man himself. The handwritten lyrics of The Times They Are A-Changin are currently for sale on the Moments In Time site.

The song, which is arguably considered to be Dylan’s Magnum Opus, was released back in 1963 and immediately became an anthem for the tectonic shifts in Western society. The original lyrics, written on a paper sheet with a pencil give a glimpse into Nowhere Man’s creative process: crossed out words, notes about adding musical instruments in the future and different takes on verses.

Potential buyers of the lot will have to deal with a starting price of $2.2 million. Apart from The Times They Are A-Changin, the auctioneer sells handwritten lyrics for Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues ($1.2 million), and Lay Lady Lay ($650.000).

According to TMZ, the manuscripts were bought from Dylan’s manager by a private collector.

Thelma is our Sports Reporter, a volleyball lover and a former cheerleader who still remembers a couple of impressive stunts. Thelma had a very “girly” upbringing which didn’t stop her from being fiercely into sports. After becoming a regional Cheer&Dance champion and spending four years as a trainer, she decided to climb another hill and successfully completed the a Publishing Course. While polishing her skills by taking several sports broadcasting gigs, Thelma concluded that she liked writing more than talking: the sheer power and potential of a written word fascinated her. She started with co-running a Premier Volleyball League blog and playing a part in drawing attention to the Arizona volleyball program for kids and teens. Today there is no form of the competitive sport she wouldn’t cover. Thelma returned to Arizona and has no desire to ever leave. We respect that.
