American Tennis Player Flies Out Of Russia After Testing Positive For Virus


An American tennis player who was in Russia to play in the St. Petersburg’s open has absconded from  Russia. He tested positive for COVID 19 together with his wife. After being moved with his family to a 5-star hotel he was asked to retest later in the week. There was a suggestion that he and his family should move to a flat waiting for the retest. As a tennis player, he has never won a grand slam but did get to a semi-final in one. Before the retest hotel video footage that he and his family left without checking out. Against normal protocol, his wife and he with their family travelled out of Russia in a private jet.

Russian officials confirm that a breach of protocols was being investigated involving an American tennis player. They did not name who it was. The player and his family are thought to be now in the United States.
